Common questions and answers

To be eligible to apply for a job with ASIC, you must be an Australian citizen.

Applications close at 11.59 pm on the date that applications close.

You are not required to submit a 'Statement of Claims' or supporting document that separately addresses the selection criteria (unless specified). We ask that you submit a cover letter (1 page) and reflect the selection criteria - highlighting your skills, previous experience and achievements - in your CV (4-5 pages).

We ask that you apply separately for all the roles you would like to be considered for, particularly if they're at different classification levels.

Relocation costs will not be covered by ASIC should you chose to apply for a job in another state.

We carry out significant regulatory and policy work in Indigenous consumer protection, including responding to financial services issues impacting Indigenous consumers. Our focus includes encouraging structural and behavioural change in the market, and seeking to prevent or limit unfair operators and practices. ASIC's MoneySmart financial capability program also provides materials and programs for Indigenous consumers. ASIC also has a Reconciliation Action Plan, which includes internal targets to increase Indigenous employment, cultural sensitivity and awareness.

Each advertised role has an 'Application Closing Date'. After that date, ASIC will review all the applications and prepare a shortlist.
