ASIC Graduate program – Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. You need to be an Australian citizen to apply. ASIC cannot accept permanent residents or international students.

Aside from the relevant degree disciplines, we look for energetic, proficient communicators who are comfortable with change and teamwork. We also look for people who can multitask and pick up new concepts quickly.

To apply for the ASIC Graduate program, you must have completed an undergraduate degree in 2020, 2019 or 2018. You must complete your degree before the Graduate program commences in January 2021.

In accordance with the Australian Government Security Policy, all personnel that are engaged by ASIC are required to complete a security assessment. If you are selected for a role at ASIC, you will be required to complete an ASIC suitability and baseline assessment before you start.

If you proceed to the next stage after filling in your online application you will be emailed an online psychometric assessment to complete.

Yes, you will receive an email at every stage of the process.

Feedback is provided via email and is sent to applicants who are invited to participate in the Assessment centre and face to face interview stage of our application process and beyond.

Tight deadlines and an online application process prevent us from extending our closing dates. If you miss the date, you will have to wait until the following year to apply.

There is a contact number on the form that you can call to log any problems you have. If your issue is in relation to the word count section on the application form, please note the online form counts words differently to the other online system used. Try removing a few words from each section, for example, if you reduce the number of words down to about 146-7 words and then try to submit again.

Yes, appreciating that similar to other undergraduate programs, the development is designed for those entering the workforce. If you possess a masters/post-doctoral qualification, ASIC also offers a postgraduate program. Click here to more information.
