Assessment and Intelligence (A&I) is comprised the following main teams - Misconduct and Breach Reporting, Small Business Compliance & Deterrence and Licensing. These teams interact with many of ASIC's stakeholders when performing A&I's key functions.
This role is located in the Licensing team. The Licensing team's focus is on the licensing of Australian credit and Australian financial services licensees, and professional registrations of auditors and liquidators.
› assess complex Australian Financial Services Licence applications and liquidator registration applications as per the Corporations Act using established policy and procedures
› assess complex Australian Credit Licence applications as per the National Consumer Credit Protection Act using established policy and procedures
› carry out assessments of licensing related applications in support of the licensing regime
› mentor staff to facilitate staff development
› provide recommendations and drafting briefs for refusal of a licence
› manage enquiries regarding complex issues including assessment and decision making
› contribute to the development and maintenance of reference materials, and
› proactively participate in process improvement.
› A relevant bachelor's degree.
› Relevant knowledge and experience in the financial services industry.
› Experience in researching, analysing and interpreting complex information and legislation to resolve complex customer queries.
› Demonstrated high quality written and oral communication experience and the ability to successfully engage with all types of stakeholders.
› Previous experience in mentoring and coaching others.
