Strategic Policy is part of the broader Strategy Group in ASIC. The work of ASIC's Strategic Policy team includes implementing new regulatory and law reform initiatives, shaping and influencing Australia's regulatory framework, and driving ASIC's organisational strategy, including business planning and performance reporting.
As a Senior Strategic Policy Adviser, you will:
- lead regulatory policy projects that support the Commission's strategic objectives
- Influence and contribute to implementation of law reform and policy related to ASIC's regulatory framework
- develop responses to emerging and new areas of work, in consultation with senior executives and ASIC stakeholder teams
- provide technical insight into the policy development process, guidance on ASIC regulatory policy and its application, and advice on law reform issues and proposals
- engage with external stakeholders across Government and industry.
We are looking for strong communicators and policy professionals who have well-developed knowledge of the Australian financial system and current regulatory and market issues, including competition. Sound judgement and the ability to assess and resolve complex issues are essential criteria for this position. Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline is required to undertake this role.
