The team
The Digital, Data & Technology (DD&T) Portfolio Office delivers a broad suite of services in portfolio management, project delivery, business planning, and governance to support ASIC's strategic priorities. We work in close partnership with ASIC IT and the newly established RegistryConnect (RC) program to ensure projects are aligned with both strategic direction and operational needs.
The role
The Junior Business Analyst's role within ASIC is to gather business requirements for IT solutions, translate these to functional and non-functional requirements and be the IT SME during the design, build and testing of these solutions.
More specifically, you will:
- Work with the business SME's and IT teams to analyse business requirements to discover the underlying business need to be addressed, through workshops or discussions with stakeholders.
- Document requirements (business, functional and non-functional) in a format that can be shared and easily understood by business and IT stakeholders.
- Support the development of user interface designs utilising User Central Design (UCD) principles and practices to design user interfaces that conform with industry and Australian Government Accessibility and Usability principles, practices, and guidelines.
- Assist with testing preparation and execution.
- Assist with UAT preparation and system implementation including the development of user manuals and training.
- Assist on projects as required.
About you
The ideal candidate this role will be a proactive and detail oriented professional who possesses strong analytical and communication skills.
In addition, you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT.
- Experience in the use of industry process modelling tools and requirements management tools.
- Knowledge of process modelling (including the use of BPMN) data analysis and modelling.
- Knowledge of requirements gathering and documentation.
- Knowledge of automation is desirable.
- Good troubleshooting and analysis skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Ability to contribute to a variety of IT projects and activities.
- Ability to effectively present information to different target audiences both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and be accountable for outcomes.
