Join ASIC as a Customer Service Officer and be the first point of contact for users of our Registry services - supporting entrepreneurs, professionals and the public to navigate their business journey.
- Based in Traralgon, VIC (approximately 2 hours east of Melbourne)
- Successful candidates will be required to attend 3-4 weeks of full-time training at the Traralgon office
- Temporary 12-month roles available, with multiple part-time and full-time positions
- Salary - $61,758 plus 15.4% superannuation (pro rata for part-time)
The team
ASIC maintains over 30 legal registers, including the Companies and Business Names registers, which hold details of more than 3.2 million companies and 2.7 million business names. These registers are the official source of information on registered and licensed entities operating in Australia. Users from small businesses to government and the public access the ASIC Registry to register or update details, cancel registrations, or search for information. We're here to support them every step of the way.
The role
As a Customer Service Officer, you will:
- Deliver professional customer service via phone, email, and web chat
- Guide customers to ASIC services and support online transactions
- Respond with empathy and ASIC knowledge to resolve enquiries
- Accurately record and process customer interactions using multiple systems
- Maintain and update business registers by assessing and processing applications
- Meet performance targets for enquiry handling and processing times
- Provide basic IT support for account access and system issues
- Contribute actively to the Service Delivery team
About you
You will build and sustain positive client relationships and exercise good judgment when resolving enquiries, providing accurate advice and information. You'll use high attention to detail when maintaining the integrity of client records and be responsive to rapidly changing priorities in a telephony-based environment.
You will work collaboratively within your team and share knowledge to enhance team capability and regularly look for process improvements. You'll interact with clients through multiple communication channels including telephone, paper, webchat, email and online portals.
In addition, you will have:
- Completion of a high school certificate or diploma
- Experience in customer service and team environments
- Good computer literacy, with proficiency's in data entry using multiple software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, databases)
