ASIC's Business Analysis team is currently seeking a Junior Business Analysts to join their high-performing team to contribute to a wide range of technology projects within.

 

  • 24-month fixed term contract role
  • Sydney or Melbourne location
  • Salary from $97,401 to $109,171 (depending on experience) + 15.4 % superannuation

The team 

The Digital, Data & Technology (DD&T) Portfolio Office delivers a broad suite of services in portfolio management, project delivery, business planning, and governance to support ASIC's strategic priorities. We work in close partnership with ASIC's Digital, Data & Technology group and the newly established RegistryConnect (RC) program to ensure projects are aligned with both strategic direction and operational needs.

 

The role

The Junior Business Analyst will collaborate with business subject matter experts and IT teams to analyse and clarify business requirements. This role will involve identifying the underlying business needs through stakeholder workshops and discussions, ensuring requirements are accurately captured and aligned with organisational objectives.

 

More specifically, you will: 

  • Prepare and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements in a clear, structured format that is easily understood by both business and IT stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of user interface designs by applying User-Centred Design (UCD) principles and ensuring compliance with industry standards and Australian Government accessibility and usability guidelines.
  • Provide support for test planning, preparation and execution activities.
  • Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system implementation, including the creation of user manuals and delivery of training materials.
  • Provide additional project support as required across various initiatives.

 

About you

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and grow within the business analysis discipline. They should possess a foundational understanding of requirements gathering and process modelling, coupled with attention to detail and sound problem-solving skills. Familiarity with concepts such as BPMN, UAT and user-centred design is advantageous. Excellent written and verbal communication skills will be essential for effective collaboration with stakeholders.

 

In addition, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Proficient in using industry-standard process modelling and requirements management tools.
  • Good understanding of process modelling techniques, including BPMN, as well as data analysis and modelling.
  • Skilled in requirements elicitation, documentation, and validation.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues and perform detailed analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
