The team 

The Chief Risk Office is the custodian of enterprise risk management, business resilience, protective security, compliance management and integrity across ASIC. 

The Enterprise Compliance and Assurance Team provides oversight of ASIC's Compliance Management Framework (CMF), breach reporting through the Compliance Incident Management System (CIMS), and the Enterprise Policy Framework (EPF). The team helps ensure ASIC has appropriate policies and procedures to meet its obligations, while providing compliance and assurance oversight and expert advice to the Executive Committee, Commission and Audit & Risk Committee.

 

The role

As Compliance Specialist, you will help administer, monitor, enhance and operationalise ASIC's enterprise compliance and policy frameworks, supporting risk-based compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations. 

You will also be accountable for: 

  • Administering and enhancing ASIC's Compliance Management Framework, Enterprise Policy Framework, and associated systems, processes and tools. 
  • Providing technical and advisory support to the Commission, Executive Committee and business teams on risk-based compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations. 
  • Analysing complex and sensitive compliance issues and providing practical advice to management on appropriate courses of action. 
  • Partnering with policy owners and stakeholders to embed new or revised policies, processes and controls, including monitoring progress and assurance testing. 

 

About you

You are an experienced compliance, risk or policy professional who can navigate complex obligations, build trusted stakeholder relationships and translate frameworks into pragmatic organisational outcomes. You bring sound judgement, analytical capability and the confidence to provide clear advice in a corporate or government environment. 

You will also have: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in law, risk, compliance, strategy or another related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. 
  • Advanced experience in compliance or risk management within a corporate or government setting. 
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate, improve and operationalise compliance frameworks, policy frameworks and supporting programs. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality reporting for senior executive or board-level audiences. 
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement, influencing and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and contribute effectively in a team environment.
