  • ASIC is seeking a full time Oracle Systems Manager to join their Information Technology team

The team 

 

Information Technology Services provides a wide range of IT facilities and support services to ASIC.  We are embarking on major technology projects that will transform our business and continue our significant technology transformation in a number of areas such as virtualisation, mobility and cloud.  We make use of the latest technology with an increasing focus on data sharing and analytics which will make ASIC a 'best in class' regulator supporting the Australian financial markets.

 

The role 

 

  • Managing a team of engineers supporting Oracle Technologies, Oracle Applications, and BMC Workload automation
  • Providing day-to-day technical leadership and direction to establish, align and evolve operational standards
  • Managing the Oracle platform with high operational effectiveness and efficiency
  • Contributing to the delivery of ASIC Projects and BAU Releases
  • Managing security vulnerabilities and patching process within ISM guidelines
  • Planning life cycle management of the systems supported by the team
  • Identifying any opportunities to move to cloud and help migrating
  • Identifying operational risks and help mitigating them
  • Working closely with other teams in Infrastructure Services to develop hardware and software road maps and ensuring solutions deployed are in line with the agreed strategy
  • Train and mentor staff on how to effectively support and manage the environment
  • This position may be required to work outside of hours to support critical operational changes, incidents, and project implementation as appropriate

 

About you

 

  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology is desirable.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Operations
  • 5+ years of experience as an IT Manager
  • Experience with or good knowledge of Oracle Applications (Siebel, PeopleSoft), Oracle Database technologies, and Oracle Fusion Middleware
  • Strong people leadership skills with experience managing and guiding small technical teams.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively to influence stakeholders, internal teams and vendors both verbally and in writing.
