Recruitment stages
1. Application
Please submit a cover letter (1 page) and CV (4-5 pages) which highlights your skills, previous experience and achievements.
If the position description asks for supporting documentation, please attach it when you apply.
Your application will be reviewed after the closing date has passed.
To find available jobs, see our Search & apply page.
ASIC is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where the very best talent in Australia chooses to work. We welcome applications from individuals of all ages, cultural backgrounds, abilities, gender identities, sexual orientations (including LGBTIQ+), and people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent. We value the unique perspectives and experiences that each person brings to our organisation.
2. Selection
If you progress to the selection phase, we will contact you by phone. This stage typically includes:
- A phone screen with a recruitment consultant
- A panel interview
- An online psychometric assessment either at the application or interview stage.
- A professional reference check. We will ask for two professional references, and one should be a current manager.
There may be a second stage to the selection process. This stage may include:
- A second interview
- A written task or technical skills assessment
If you have any requirements or adjustments to support you during the interview process, please speak to your Talent Acquisition Partner so we can ensure your experience is supportive and positive.
3. Offer
If you are successful, we will call you to make a verbal offer and send you ASIC's Suitability and Baseline Assessment.
We will then send you an offer pack with an offer letter, information on working at ASIC, your role and employment conditions.
4. Security assessment
To be employed by ASIC, you will be required to satisfactorily complete ASIC's Suitability and Baseline Assessment form. The purpose of this assessment is to ensure that you are suitable to work in ASIC's unique regulatory environment and gain an Australian Government security clearance at the Baseline level.
The questions are comprehensive, and you will have to provide biographical information including travel history, education, employment history, financial information, current and previous address history and membership with professional groups. Some of the information provided will be validated with other agencies.
If you are deemed unsuitable to work at ASIC or to hold a security clearance, your employment offer with ASIC will not continue.
If you have questions about the security process, email personnelsecurity@asic.gov.au
